 the Texas Comptroller's corporate info search page. Sort of an entity search on the cheap, if the company is set up to pay taxes.

 Cornell Law School/the Legal Information Institute's site to access the US Code by title/section or by table of contents.
3. www.tyla.org/judicialdirectory/index.asp
 Texas Young Lawyers Association's search page to find how to contact judges' offices and staff.
4. webapps.rrc.state.tx.us/PDQ/home.do
 Texas Railroad Commission's online search for oil and gas/lease/driller production. Used frequently here in West Texas.

 Federal Reserve's site to find banks/savings and loans that exist now, and which no longer exist. This info may not be available anywhere else, at least as to financial institutions that have gone under.

  Search Systems' links to Texas county data on the web, such as court records, appraisal districts, etc.
7. www.versuslaw.com
  a pay service to access federal and state case law and statutes. Far cheaper than West/Lexis, though it doesn't have internal hyperlinks between cases.
8. www.gpoaccess.gov/cfr/index.html
  the National Archives' tool to search or browse the Code of Federal Regulations. Has access to current and older versions of the CFR
9. www.residentagentinfo.com/
  has links to state sites for corporate/resident agent searches.
